MEKONG DELTA: CAI BE – DONG HOA HIEP

The Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village – Tien Giang is one of the four ancient villages of Vietnam, which is famous for its harmonious combination of Eastern and Western architecture in the early era. Tien Giang also possesses the natural garden of wonders, where large areas of luxuriant orchards bear the most delicious fruits all around the season.
Moreover, this village is just 108 km from Ho Chi Minh City, which provides a tranquil heaven for those who want to lay back in the serenity of evergreen landscape and escape the noisy atmosphere from the overcrowded city.
Biking around the village under the absolutely pure atmosphere

Get picked up at your hotel at 4 p.m then transferred by bus to Tien Giang by road, and arrived at Mr. Ba Duc ancient house and homestay at around 6:30 p.m.
The house is divided into three parts: front house, back house, and a courtyard to suffice light, create a warm space for the house.
After check in, tourists will have about 30 minutes for personal hygiene and self-exploring the house. Walking around the ancient house for a while or admiring pictures hung on the wall are recommended.
At 7 p.m you will have a traditional Southern Vietnamese dinner with the locals.
After dinner, the homestay owner will help your group to understand the architecture of this 160 years old house and Vietnamese culture. Then everyone returned their room for resting. The facilities include free wifi and fan.
The chickens’ coo will wake you up quite soon in the morning. You can take a walk on the field outside the house and immerse in the pure and cool atmosphere here.
After having breakfast, your native guide will take you on a trip around the ancient village by bikes. It is a wonderful time for sightseeing and visiting some featured ancient houses.
First, you will visit the oldest ancient house – Mr. Xoat’s house. The special of the house is that the outside of it was designed by the French whereas the inside got a touch of traditional Vietnam houses. There are lots of ancient furniture items which you will see in the area.
The next house is Mr. Kiet ancient house – the largest house. This house is surrounded by a 1000 m2 fruit garden. You can enjoy many kinds of tropical fruits like mango, guava, durian, rambutan, etc
In the afternoon, you can experience catching fish with hands in the canal. Then barbeque them immediately and enjoy your grilled fish right on the fruit garden.
After lunch, at around 2:30 pm, take a short walk along a small canal towards the homestay where the bus is waiting to drive you back to HCMC. It takes you approximately 3 hours.
